This blog explores the concept behind the phrase "pics or it didn't happen" as applied to our Facebook identities.  The first photo displayed in each girl's post is her "profile picture" (the picture she has chosen to represent her online identity).  The second photo is taken of the girl in her day to day life, holding a printed version of her "online identity".  The second photo is intended to reflect a mugshot, and raise discussion on the ways in which daily identities are held prisoner to the constant checking and updating of the Facebook persona.  The differences in the "profile picture" choices of each girl show the many ways in which Facebook profiles can be reflective of the idealized "physical" self translated to the virtual.  Finally, the girls were each asked the question, "do you exist without your Facebook?"- the definitive answer was "No."
